Tamala & Jack

Tamala is a good friend that I met in my first year of college and I am SO lucky to still be in touch with today. Lucky because I’m terrible at keeping in touch with people and lucky because she is an all around awesome human being. I think what first drew me to her was her beautiful smile, sense of humor and laughter to all the things. Tamala is one of those gals that no matter how far you live, no matter how long it is before you talk to each other, everything is still the same once you do start talking again.

She is one of the most loving, caring and beautiful girls I know and I was incredibly honored to photograph her wedding to Jack, a guy she also met freshman year of college! I still remember when she first met him and told me about this guyyyy that she met and he was so coooool. Ah good times.

Their wedding was a simple, no frills wedding at the Edison municipal court, and all the money in the world couldn’t match the pure joy, love and happiness of all the guests attending and of course beaming from the couple themselves.

Both families were so warm and beyond happy for this special day. There was nothing but smiles all around! It was so wonderful to see everyone hugging and laughing as they became one family. I loved capturing this moment with Tamala and her mom after they said their I dos! Not to mention her grandmother is adorable.

They are a couple that fits together like PB&J, or like fried chicken and beer. Or oreos and milk. All the good things. They are comfy, silly, and ridiculously cute together!

After the ceremony we had a blast taking some photos in the elevator where the newlyweds could channel their inner Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and some gosh darn sweet moments too. We also had some fun portraits outside the complex and on the field across the street. Luckily the weather was great and not too hot for August! We finished off with some barside photos before dinner and that was that 😁

Relationship goals, folks. You know it’s the right one when you can lick and be licked!

Thanks to Tamala and Jack for letting me be a part of their special wedding day! Wishing you both many years of happiness ❤😁

Miyazaki Lantern Complete!

After plenty of time procrastinating here and there, I’ve finally completed my Miyazaki lantern! With four panels featuring fanart from my four faves of the Studio Ghibli films; My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke and Howl’s Moving Castle.

I’m not sure that I have a favorite panel of the four, as I truly love all four films…From the nostalgia and fun loving spirit of Totoro, to the bravery of Princess Mononoke, to the adventures of Sen and the romance between Howl and Sophie, I love them all! I recently bought a square lantern and plan on starting a new lantern project–I’m thinking Sailor Moon, my next favorite 😍

I absolutely love how it looks in black and white, and at night when I turn on the candles inside, the light flickers and feels so cozy! 💗🏮  Of course, being the paranoid person that I am, I use remote controlled fake candles 😅

Now just have to figure out where I want to put it!

Until next time,

Jenny
